In this Black History Month spotlight, 麻豆区 is featuring the head of a local non-profit that strives to assist the greatest needs of the community 鈥 United Way of Madison County.
United Way has a mission that identifies the health and human service needs for the community.
In Madison County, one out of four people are touched by their services.
Their president and chief executive officer, Daniel Kasambria lives by that goal.
鈥淗ere at the United Way, we believe in getting and convening individuals and organizations to get together to make a difference in people's lives,鈥 said Kasambria. 鈥淭hrough our strategies, through our programs and services to make a difference and move the needle on some issues.鈥
Kasambria鈥檚 journey began in Zimbabwe, and as a youth, migrated to the U.S. where he advanced in his career goals.
鈥淚t takes all people to be successful. Through my journey I鈥檝e understood that relationships are instrumental in making things happen,鈥 said Kasambria. 鈥淎nd through the different things that have happened both positive and negative, I鈥檝e tried to embrace those challenges because I understand that if we have God and family then career, then great things could happen.鈥
And with all of the programs the non-profit offers, United Way continues to find ways to assist those unfulfilled needs.
Daniel Kasambria and United Way of Madison County are solving problems and making a lasting impact.
