CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 109 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast, and northwest
Alabama and southern middle Tennessee.

* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 7 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

DeKalb County Sheriff's Office identifies woman killed in Tuesday's shooting

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of the Collinsville woman who was shot to death on Tuesday.

The sheriff's office confirms the victim was 38-year-old Kristy Gladden Hancock.

James Michael Howard Jr. was charged with her murder in addition to public intoxication after Gladden was found unresponsive at an address on County Road 221.
