* WHAT...Heat index values up to 109.

* WHERE...All of northern Alabama and southern middle Tennessee.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Florence police identify woman found dead in residence on West Mobile Street

The Florence Police Department has identified the woman found dead in a residence located in the 1200 block of West Mobile Street on Wednesday. 

Police say a family member found 31-year-old Marshai Nichole Gayden deceased inside Gayden's home and called authorities.

Officers say, upon arrival, they set up a crime scene due to suspicious circumstances. Detectives responded and processed the scene.

Gayden's body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.

This is an ongoing investigation, and Florence police are asking anyone with information concerning Gayden to contact Detective Shaddix at 256-760-6405 or FPD dispatch at 256-768-2727. You can also send them a Facebook message or text an anonymous tip to 274637 using the keyword "FPDTIP" followed by your message.
