According to Don Webster with Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, one person is dead following a wreck on Jim McLemore Road and Highway 53 in Harvest.Â
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says 45-year-old Melinda L. Sims was fatally injured when the 2019 Ford Ecosport she was driving was struck by a 2019 Dodge Ram.Â
ALEA says Sims was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
ALEA says the driver of the other vehicle was injured and transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.Â
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says the wreck also caused road blockage. Both lanes on Alabama 53 near Jim McLemore Road in Madison County were closed for a period of time, but are now open.Â
ALEA says the two-vehicle crash occurred about 5:39 p.m. Wednesday.Â
