Near-record heat today, below average temps and rain Friday

Another sunny and windy day is on tap here in North Alabama with near record heat! In Huntsville, our forecasted high temperature is 83 degrees with the previous record set in 2022 at 84 degrees. We'll also have a very gusty wind with breezes up to 25 mph. The good news is, plenty of beautiful sunshine will remain overhead throughout the day.

Thursday starts off the trend of what will be several forecast changes in a very short period of time. Thursday will see mostly cloudy skies with a breeze but not a gusty wind like what we're seeing today. A cold front will move through in the wee hours of the morning on Friday bringing isolated rain to North Alabama starting later Thursday evening and lasting through Friday afternoon.

Big Game Friday Night High School football games should not be affected by rain with the exception of one or two isolated showers, but the vast majority of our area remaining completely dry through the evening. Friday's high temperature will sit below average, in the mid-50s.

When you wake up on Veteran's Day Saturday, temperatures will be brisk and in the mid-40s with mostly cloudy skies remaining overhead and a high temperature in the low 60s.

Isolated rain moves in again Saturday night and remains in the forecast in an on-and-off fashion throughout Sunday. High temperatures on Saturday will again be in the low 60s.

WEDNESDAY: Sunny. Highs in the low 80s. Wind: SSW 10-15 MPH, Gusts 25 MPH.

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds. Lows near 60. Wind: SSW 5-10 MPH.
