A North Carolina man is facing multiple charges after deputies say he sent inappropriate images and videos to a child in Lauderdale County.
According to the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office, Dylan Smith was charged with 11 counts of transmitting obscene material to a child and one count of online solicitation of a child.
Deputies say a CyberTip was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding child exploitation of a victim in Lauderdale County back on Feb. 14.
An investigation determined Smith, who resides in Wilson County, North Carolina, was the suspect.
The sheriff's office says an interview with the child victim was conducted at the Cramer Children’s Center and confirmed Smith had been sending inappropriate images and videos to them.
Based on evidence recovered during the investigation, warrants were issued for Smith’s arrest. Smith was booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center.
The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina assisted in the case.
