UPDATE:

Huntsville Utilities says service has been restored to the previously reported area of south Huntsville.

The utility company says the outage was due to a vehicle striking a pole. The Huntsville Police Department says that vehicle was a semi-truck and hit the pole at Memorial Parkway and English Drive.

Power lines are down, but police say they are off the roadway and are not causing a hazard.

However, the down power lines are affecting traffic signal power in that area. Please use caution in the area.

Crews are working to restore power and replace the pole as soon as possible.
